Motorhome Routes in the Cotswolds & Warwickshire

Why start local?

A short first trip is the perfect way to get comfortable with the motorhome before going further afield. You're never far from home, the driving is gentle, and the scenery is gorgeous. Here are three routes straight from our base near Leamington Spa & Rugby.

Route 1: A classic Cotswolds weekend (2–3 nights)

Head south into the honey-stone villages of the Cotswolds — all within an hour of us:

• Stow-on-the-Wold — handsome market town, great pubs.
• Bourton-on-the-Water — the 'Venice of the Cotswolds', lovely for families.
• Bibury — Arlington Row is one of England's most photographed scenes.
• Broadway & Chipping Campden — chocolate-box high streets and the Cotswold Way.

There are welcoming campsites around Cirencester, Moreton-in-Marsh and Broadway with hook-up and easy access.

Route 2: Shakespeare's England (1–2 nights)

A gentle local loop combining history and riverside walks, all within 30 minutes:

• Stratford-upon-Avon — Shakespeare's birthplace and the RSC theatres.
• Warwick — one of Britain's finest medieval castles.
• Kenilworth — atmospheric castle ruins and pretty walks.

Route 3: Further afield (long weekend)

When you're ready to stretch the legs, all of these are a comfortable drive for a long weekend:

• The Malverns (~1 hr) — dramatic hills and spa-town charm.
• The Peak District (~1.5 hrs) — Dovedale, Bakewell and big skies.
• Mid-Wales & the Brecon Beacons (~2 hrs) — mountains, lakes and dark skies.
• The Lake District (~2.5–3 hrs) — England's adventure capital.

Best time to go

Spring and early autumn are glorious and quieter; summer is busiest, so book pitches ahead. The Cotswolds and Warwickshire are lovely year-round, and our heating means even a crisp off-season weekend is cosy.
